Our Services
Pre-Purchase Building & Pest Inspections
Buying a home and want to make sure you know exactly what you’re getting? Check that your contract of sale has a building and pest clause so that you can book an inspection with Compass. We send a team of two qualified and licensed inspectors to look for building defects and pest issues, both inside and outside. You’ll get a detailed report on each area (including photos) that you can use to understand hidden defects, negotiate with the seller, and confidently move forward.
Pre-Sale Building & Pest Inspections
Planning to sell your home and want everything to go smoothly? Book a pre-sale building and pest inspection so you can sort out any issues before listing — and encourage buyer confidence in your property. A pre-sale building and pest inspection identifies necessary repairs and allows you to understand the potential seriousness of any defects found. Knowing as much as you can about the condition of the property before you sell can avoid problems that may deter a potential buyer down the track. The best way to get it done is with a pre-sale or pre-purchase property.
Handover Inspections
Building a new home and want to make sure it’s all set for handover? Organise an independent building inspector to inspect your new home before handover to identify any building defects prior to taking possession. Because each of our inspectors are qualified, licensed, and experienced ex-builders, you can rest assured that you’re in good hands and ensure your property is completed to a high standard.
Dilapidation Inspection
Need to monitor the impact of lifting or renovating your building, or track the impact of major works occurring nearby? Dilapidation reports are ideal for documenting building defects, movement cracks to buildings that are being lifted or renovated, and for monitoring buildings that may have road or major earth works carried out nearby. With each report containing images that show areas of concern, you’ll have a detailed record on hand for future reference.
Further Investigation Inspection
Did your visual building and pest inspection find an area that requires a further investigation inspection? If your inspector discovered termite damage, got a high moisture reading, or something else concerning, they may recommend a closer look. Further investigation reports are often exploratory, as they involve obtaining more information about areas that can’t usually be accessed, such as inside wall cavities and hard-to-reach roof voids. This is an invasive inspection and may require the removal of plasterboard sheeting, roof sheeting, roof tiles, floorboards, or other sections of the building.
Pest Inspections
Need a pest inspection to check for a potential infestation or termite damage? Compass Building and Pest Inspections recommends your home be inspected for termites every 12 months. Just like regular checkups with your doctor and dentist, prevention and early detection in your home is key to avoiding costly and painful problems down the track.
General Pest Management
Getting bugged by cockroaches, spiders, silverfish, ants, fleas, or rodents? We can help control your general pest issues. We treat and prevent pest problems with an environmentally friendly range of sprays, dusts, and gels for all types of pests.
Termite Barriers
Need to protect your home from termites? Compass Building and Pest Inspections can install or reinstate your termite management system. We’ll install the most suitable termite management system for your home, whether it’s a baiting and monitoring system, a reticulation system to assist with future treatments, physical termite protection, or a chemical barrier.
Termite Spot Treatment
Found termites in or around your home? We can quickly and cost-effectively eradicate live termites using highly effective spray, foam, and/or dust treatment. Once termites ingest or touch the solution, they can even spread it to the rest of the colony, which increases the long-term effectiveness of the treatment.
